First Deja Vu Visit
SETTING:
Deja Vu is in an industrial/ hotel area just south of US-50. An ample parking lot is present in front of the building. As I entered, some dancers and men were smoking pot outside.
Entry involved an ID check by woman attendant and $20 fee. I was there from about 7--9. There was just one other customer when I came, and 6 other customers when I left. Customers rarely bothered to sit at the stage much. Kind of slow for a Friday evening!
The interior is a medium-large square shape with mirrors on the walls and carpeting. The single, centrally-located stage is oval shaped and has 2 poles that go up to the ceiling. There are chairs around the stage. The stage was vacant for up to 10 minutes between dancers for first part of my visit, and then it was somewhat more consistently occupied after 8:30. The rest of the space has 23 small tables with comfortable chairs around them, and 2 sofas. A hookah was on 1 table, but it got put away. Hand sanitizer was on a table.
The lighting level is medium-dark, with rotating/moving colored lights in the ceiling. The music is urban, modern rock, and rap with dirty lyrics, and volume is too loud (at least somewhat uncomfortable for my sensitive ears) and impairs talking with dancers. Temperature is chilly (too much A/C). To the left is a bar and there are some coolers behind it containing single-serve soft drinks. The price of one was $5--not included with entry. No refills. I did see 2 customers who chose to BYOB (wine) and drink it there.
