Good Afternoon, Vivide!

I don’t get to Atlanta as often as I used to, but when I do, Vivide is at the top of my list of places to visit. Shadowcat posted a review describing the Unplanned TUSCL PL Meet-Up that occurred. As for my own review, it’s positive and upbeat, but I assure you it’s real and not a club ad.

By now I’ve been to Vivide more than a handful of times since they opened, and though they still have a few bugs to work out, they definitely have made some progress. The seating is still nowhere near Follies quality (and apparently will never be anything other than an arrangement of open benches that you may be sharing with other patrons), but they have re-upholstered the seats, partially fixed the men’s room, toned down the obnoxious bright lighting, put in a small stage, and added several more fully private VIP rooms on both levels. They are attracting enough afternoon business now that the upstairs is open at 3:00 on Thursday, Friday and I think 1:00 on Saturday. Still, the primary action is downstairs.

I arrived on a Thursday at 2:00 and stayed until about 5:00. Free parking, $10 cover, and a light pat-down. I got bottled water at the bar, which I think was $5.00. Waitress service at the booths/benches was so unobtrusive that I’m not sure I saw any non-dancers working the floor except a massage girl.
