All the remaining charges stemming from the Madison County Sheriff department's raid in late December 2005 were recently dropped at the request of the State Attorney General. It seems he was afraid if the case went to trial based on Alabama's very restrictive anti-obscenity law there was a pretty good chance the law could be overturned as unconstitutional during the appeals process. So to keep the statewide threat of prosecution under the statute alive, he asked local prosecutors to drop the charges against the owner and manager of Fantasia. How this affects the stage dances in the club remains to be seen, as things were still as restrictive as they have been all year during the two visits I made to the club during December. I sure do miss the good old days when stageside tipping with most dancers involved putting the dollar inside the thong while getting a quick (or longer) flash/feel of kitty. Not to mention the g-string nose rubs while the dancers knees were clamped around your ears... and the "Stevies". Alas, it's been well over a year now since things were so free stageside at Fantasia.

On the positive side, a few of the new dancers recently observed during my visits are well worth checking out. One of them provided a quite enjoyable VIP session. As anyone who's read my reviews for this club is aware, I no longer name specific dancers here out of fear that LE will use the information to their own ends. I will say that a certain large-breasted (fake, but not obviously so) veteran beauty who recently began dancing again is now waitressing instead. No big loss since she had way more attitude than her considerable sex appeal (She once replied to my offer of a $60 tip on an $80 dance for an enjoyable but not necessarily ultimately so VIP session with "What do I look like, Dollar General?"). A couple of my long term favorites have recently quit or gotten fired (usually for skipping too many shifts) and one or two more that are still there seem to tottering dangerously close to the precipice in that regard... if you have a favorite who has been working at the club for a while, don't put off that next visit until they are gone, as the turnover factor seems to be accelerating recently. I have no idea why. And while the majority of the new girls have that young, natural girl next door charm that I like, most of them haven't quite figured out yet what the VIP is all about for some of their best potential customers.
