Rusty in the Rust Belt
Weirton, WV. Friday night after midnight. About as rust belty a part of country as you can get. Dean Martin actually is from just across the river in Steubenville. I parked on the street. Area didn't seem crazy to me. Walk up to a door, ring the buzzer. A black dude opens it up, doesn't say a word to me the whole time, just uses his hands to motion. Pat down and motions a 10 with hands. Pay the 10 and walk on in. Layout is bar area on the left and small stage on the right side one girl up at time. This is actually a black club, has only one other review so maybe it's changed since then but all customers and dancers were black, I was the only white guy.
As I walk in the DJ stopped the music with a record screetch and everyone was staring at me. To ease the tension I started belting out the Jeffersons theme song and the whole club started clapping along. I go over to the bar, nice big black lady working it I asked for dance prices and she showed me a plaque with all the prices listed. $35 a song which is steep for this kind of joint.
Dancers. As stated all black girls, not a big lineup only about 4 girls on this night. Definitely bigger side, no petite girls. One girl was pretty built, very muscular and maybe 6 feet tall. The other girls were on the heftier side. Ages 20's, 30's and 40's. I can't say the talent was anything to write home about, it wasn't that good, below average honestly but your in an old steel town in West Virginia who's best days are probably behind it so it what it is, Hollywood it is not. Customers were younger and middle age black dudes, about 15 or so.
