The best kittens were in the parking lot
I visited Desire about four months ago (see prior review) and decided to give it a second chance. I have zero idea how Desire can possibly stay in business. I have zero idea how anyone could be a repeat patron.
Recap of basic info: Desire is open from 12P-2A. It is on a fairly busy road in East Baltimore. You turn off the main road into a small alley driveway to a parking lot that is unkept except for a cat house that houses feral cats. Secure your car and belongings. You enter from the door by the parking lot, not the front door facing the busy road. Last time someone asked to see my ID but this time nobody did. No cover. No security. I bought a $5 water, which is standard around here. Desire is dark and poorly designed / decorated. It's like someone brought their kids to the flea market and asked each of them to pick something to decorate with and four kids went with different themes (Ravens, tinsel, paper stars, plastic trees...) and then their moody teenager said "and we lower the ceiling so it feels cramped and paint the whole place black." The bar surrounds a small platform stage with a single pole. There was a drink menu (Desire does not serve food) listing which beers were $6 and which were $7. There were also bottle of hard liquor but no prices listed.
Literally the only two good things about Desire are the two glow marker boards. One clearly lists prices. Dancer drinks are $20 (#nothankyou,) 3 songs are $60, 30 minutes are $120 (Is it really a bargain if you aren't going to enjoy it?). The other board lists the dancers working that shift. That's it. That's the nicest thing I can say, that those two boards are present and used. There is a small LD / private room with some blue Xmas tree lights on the wall and with a few couches but it is a shared space, there is no privacy.
