Empty stage Monday afternoon
Monday afternoon. They claim to open at noon. I was hoping to catch Thea because I heard she worked on Mondays. I pulled into the lot around 1:45pm to be fashionably late, and there was only 1 car there. Figuring that the DJ, bartender and dancers all have to drive, I drove away. I returned at 3 to a lot with only 5 cars, and went in to complete the mission.
When I sat down, it was the bartender, the doorman, DJ and 2 other guys. The bartender (the former Babydoll) was quick to serve the first round from behind the long rectangular bar.
We all then just sat there until close to 4:30pm staring at our phones because not a single dancer showed up. I was not the first to leave, nor was I the last. I tipped Babydoll on the way out, walked past the empty, curtained dance rooms on the left and into the bright sky.
The morale of the story at the 19th Hole is that nothing ever works according to plan.
