A friend and I stopped in on a Thursday night after winning some cash at the Hard Rock. This was my first time back to the Vu in over a year, and I was excited to see what if anything had changed.

After a $15 cover (no drink purchase required), we sat and relaxed by the stage. The inside of the club is pretty nice, clean, and well kept; there was a fairly large crowd there, but not too many for the amount of girls working or the size of the club. There was one girl on the stage dancing for tips and between 8-9 working the room trying to get customers for private dances. Within 5 minutes, two girls approached my friend and I to give us a "free tour" of the private dance areas. The club has one large room of semi-private booths for $25 a song. While it used to be that the single-dance price was negotiable per girl, it didn't seem to be that way anymore. The girls then took my friend and me into a hallway with more private, roomier compartments that could be used for $150 for 15 minutes. The girls hinted at more fun to be had in the higher priced rooms, as they do at most clubs; I have shelled out the money before for one of these rooms, and the dance was VERY high-mileage and VERY satisfying. However, tonight I didn't feel like dishing out the cash, especially within the first five minutes of being there. At this point the two of us made it relatively clear to the dancers that we would prefer to sit and relax by the stage for a while before buying any private dances. This is where things got annoying. The girls continued to try to sell us on the $150 rooms, and we were practically held hostage in this back hallway as the girls continued to pressure us into biting. Even after making a joke about being annoyed at high-pressure sales situations (which was clearly meant to tell the girls to give it a break), these two would not quit. Finally, we simply turned and walked out as it was clear that nothing we could say would get these girls to accept no for an answer.

Annoyed at the aggressive tactics, we retook our seats to the left of the stage. This was a bit of a mistake, as it turned out that during dance specials and after being on the stage, most dancers came into the seating area from the right side of the stage. This made it a bit more challenging to get the attention of the girls we wanted once we decided to head back for some private fun. Next time I will definitely sit on the right side.
