too crowded, unpleasant

I had been there many many years ago when it was Expose. It was fairly upper class. Now it's a sister club of The Yellow Rose, my favorite place in Austin for a long time. But I hadn't been in Texas in 10 years so I wanted to check them both out. The Yellow Rise was pretty much the same. But the Red Rose was nothing like Expose or Yellow Rose, even though it looked the same as the old Expose. I was there 8 weeks ago.

It was super-crowded around midnight on a Thursday. It was like a college bar at the end of the spring semester between the last classes and final exams before graduation. It's close to the UT campus. This night, at least, there was nothing upscale about it. You could barely move inside, standing room only. Forget about having an intimate encounter with your favorite girl. Forget about finding a place to park. It was hard enough to order a drink. I managed to get a quick table dance but it's not enjoyable when you're surrounded by a million people. I got stuck in the parking lot because 2 cars had a little fender bender and blocked the exit forever while they were discussing it.

I tried to walk around a little to check the layout but it was too damn crowded to explore. There's basically a bar when you walk in, a stage in the middle of the room, and a bunch of tables surrounding it. There were plenty of girls.
