Unexpected Tour of Cuba
About the Club: Lipstick is not a place you take clients or a girlfriend. If that's the scene you're looking for, try BDD or The Lodge. Lipstick is more of a dive to grab a couple of beers, get some dances and try your luck at catching one of the better looking dancers before getting back to your life.
About the Club: Walking into the club, you'll see the DJ booth, a primary (center) stage, and a secondary stage to your left. In the center are chairs and tables around the stage. To the right, the main bar is in the center of the room, with seating along the front (facing away from the stages) and the back (facing the bar and stage areas). There are two dancing stages (none of the stages have a pole), which are used once more dancers are available / when traffic picks up. On slower days, the dances are on the front stages. Behind the bar is a series of tables and chairs, and behind those are a series of couches along the wall to the RH side (I'm guessing 8 or 9) - from the main entrance to the end of the room heading to the restrooms. At the back of the room, there's a second bar with bar seating with the VIP seating immediately behind that bar. VIP Seating: 6 or 7 couches without any real privacy. Fancy seating with 'some' obstructed view provided by the bar. In the past, there was another small stage in the VIP area, but it looks like that's gone now. There's no real privacy anywhere in the club, but that doesn't mean you can't get some action - you just can't be bashful.
Recent Changes: I hadn't been to Lipstick in a few months, and read about the recent remodels and price change, and apparently prices changed again. A month or so ago, the "renovated" VIP seating was $50 (up from $30), but you could still get a band for the couches against the wall for $10. That's changed. When I showed up, I was asked if I wanted the $25 or $50 band. I was told that the couches are now $25. It makes sense, since I was told there had only been 2 people in the VIP that day. Other reviews and conversations with the dancers indicated that people were just using the couch band instead, and ignoring the VIP completely. So yeah, I think general entrance (no band) is still $5, with $25 for couch action (YMMV) and $50 for who-knows-what kind of VIP experience.
