I keep coming back!

Divas is located near the airport in an industrial area. Not walkable to anything really, not close to any public transportation, you’ll need a car or taxi here. There are parking spaces along the front of the building, and I believe in the evenings there is a $10 charge to park there. Therefore, I usually park on the street, but be careful and pay attention to the signage, curb cuts, etc. I’m sure they will tow. However, I recently parked on the street once a bit past the club (past the taco truck) in what was a legal spot but when I walked up to the door the parking guy still wanted $10 saying that those street spots are not free… but the ones closer to the main road are? Whatever, I paid but got the impression they just make it up as they feel.

Weekday evening I paid $20 to get in plus another $25(?) for access to VIP. It may have been $15 + $20, or $20 + $20… in any case you pretty much should get the VIP, I don’t think I’ve seen dances on the regular floor. Maybe don’t get VIP if you already know you want to go celebrity room? The place is BYOB, so make sure you bring drinks. Austin has some weird alcohol sales rules and hours, so if you plan on visiting late, you may need to plan ahead and hit a package store ahead of time. There is a quick frisk down after paying and then you take a right past a vending machine into the main room.

The main room has the men’s bathroom, bar (for ice/soda/juice), and main stage along the left. VIP dance section along the right, celebrity rooms immediately to your left going back, and door to the smoking outhouse in the far back right. There are bunch of chairs/tables around the stage, along with a couple satellite stages. Dances usually happen in the VIP section that isn’t really separated from the main room much, it’s essentially 2 rows of couch areas that face each other with some additional seating in between. It’s not very private, but obviously better than the main room. Some of the furniture is run down, some seats aren’t’ very comfortable to sit in (hard planks, tilting forward, etc.), so if you get a dance back there ask to move if the seat sucks.
