Maybe I should have stayed!
I had only been to Omar's once before, BC(Before Covid). Parking on the street was pretty much taken, I checked out the parking lot behind. They wanted $8 and I didn't like the looks of the lot. I went back to the street and found a spot a block away. There are restaurants either side of Omar's with tables on the sidewalk. I walked in the front door and a big guy who had been standing outside came in and said there is a $10 cover charge. I had to show my ID and he waved a detector around my front, then had me turn around to check my back. He then took me up to the bar and introduced me to the bartender. I paid 8$ for a 7 & 7 and tipped him $2. I then took a seat at a small table near the stage. The stage was kind of circular with two poles. The inside looked like we were in a basement with the walls of exposed brick. Off to my left two dancers were sitting with a guy and there was an older guy sitting next to the bar. Over on the right side of the stage 3 guys were sitting at another table. Music was playing but no one was dancing. After a couple songs one the dancers off to my left came over and sat with me. She was a busty black woman in her early to mid 20's. A dancer was announced and went up to dance, a nice looking blonde. She danced 3 songs, taking her top off at the end of the first. The guys from the table on the right tipped her, one of them showered her with singles. The dancer sitting with me asked me if I was going to tip her - I gave her a dollar and she got up and gave it to the blonde. hen she sat back down I gave her a dollar - she helped me put it in her bra. After she danced the blonde went and sat with the table with the 3 guys. The dancer sitting with me asked if I wanted to go upstairs for a VIP dance at $25 a song. I told her maybe later. She asked what kind of music I listen to I told her Hippie music and Hot Rod music. She had never heard of either. Music was playing, my companion said the DJ would play requests. I gave her $2 to tip the DJ and she went up and asked her to play either "Running on Empty' by Jackson Brown or 'Friends in Low Places' by Garth Brooks. The DJ played 'Running on Empty'. The dancer listened to it with me, said it was a good song, then left me to talk to someone else. Another dancer came to the stage, a hot redhead. I got up and tipped her myself - the 3 guys again showered her with dollar bills.
Another dancer came and sat with me but never asked if I wanted a VIP, I might have gone upstairs with her. But she left without asking, so I got up and left, since there was another party I wanted to check out.
The guys sitting to my right were feeling up the dancers - I was kind of surprised by that.
The party I left to go to was a real downer, I'd have been better off staying at Omar's
