Expensive Place, But Worth a Visit if You're a Tourist
TL, DR: Medium sized, brightly lit, upscale club. Smoke free. Topless only. $12 cover. There were a variety of women – most were Caucasian or perhaps Latina, about three AAs, and at least three Asians – the most Asians I’ve ever seen in a club on the Atlantic seaboard or in the South. Dance prices are expensive at $40 per song, but beware of ROBs that try to sell dances for more than that. Bouncers keep track of the number of songs, not the dancers, and the song count starts when you enter the dance area, not when the girl starts grinding on you.

I was in New Orleans during Jazz Fest for business and I had the opportunity to walk around the French Quarter at night. All the bars had live bands or were blasting music, and there were loud street performers, loud drummers, and loud speakers used by all sorts acts and attention getters everywhere. Did I mention the French Quarter was loud? There are a number of strip clubs in the French Quarter that are mostly clustered near the Canal Street end of Bourbon Street, and I believe just about all their entrances face Bourbon Street. I didn’t feel comfortable going into a strip club where tons of people could see me going in and out, even if I didn’t seem to know anyone there. Luckily, the entrance to The Penthouse Club was half a block down the first side street walking north on Bourbon Street from Canal Street, and there weren’t a lot of people or foot traffic on that street. I felt relatively safe in that area.
