More a Bar with Strippers than a Club

On Friday April 28,2023 I visited Venus Lounge in Stanton, Orange County, California from about 5:45 to 7:30 pm. I had just previously been at TJ’s Showgirls up the street. Venus is on the east side of Beach Blvd one block south of Orangewood Ave. It is a standalone building within its own parking lot which has a decent number of spaces. Entering through a turnstile I was not charged a cover nor was there any security stuff. Guy at the door was checking ID’s of those young enough that was a concern, as this is an alcohol serving place. The inside of the club is basically two large rooms. The front room as you enter has the stage on the left wall , one pole with mirrors at the back and seats around the tip rail. On the right is an L-shaped bar and some tables and chairs. Around the L of the bar is the opening into the back room which has its own small bar not used at this time, some furniture and two pool tables which were continuously in use while I was there. Around the junction of the two main rooms were the restrooms, small but adequate, and on the other side the door to the kitchen as this place has extensive food service, and a door leading to an outdoor smoking patio.

The building seems rather old and may not have air-conditioning as there were several fans positioned around although not a problem on this fairly cool spring day. There is some LED lighting around the stage but not a lot. There are quite a few TV screens all over the place showing sports but they are fairly small ones. Several waitresses were serving. Not pushy, I had a generic bottled water for $3.75. There was a pretty extensive food menu and as it was dinner time I had a pasta and chicken dish for about $20, OK nothing special.

There were quite a few customers, the place was maybe half full. There were only a few dancers to start with, it probably being shift change, but more and more came in while I was there and there were maybe 15 or so when I left. The dancers seemed mostly 20’s and some 30’s in age with a preference for fairly slim and small to medium breasts. The stage was occupied maybe half the time at most. Two or three song sets topless in the last song. There was not much tipping at the rail. Mostly the dancers were sitting and drinking with customers at the bar or tables.
