Almost as Certain as Death and Taxes, But More Fun

While I live over 200 miles from Providence, I will visit the Providence clubs whenever my business travel puts me within a 2 hour drive. It’s remarkable to have 4 clubs of decent quality (Desire, Fantasies, Cadiillac and Foxy Lady) in such close proximity in a small city. Makes it easy on the Uber tab to club hop after having a couple drinks. While this isn’t intended to be a review of Desire, by way of comparison, Desire has the nicest layout, most attractive array of dancers, and party vibe, even (maybe even especially) on weekend afternoons, when I’m most frequently on the prowl . But, my mission on an out-of-town trip is to have sex with a woman I’ve either never had sex with before, or with whom I only have done so a time or two. In this regard, while I’ve had success at Desire on occasion, it is hit or miss. So, Fantasies has become my “go to” club. Literally, in that I will start at Desire and if I can’t make something happen in the time it takes to have a drink or two, I "go to" Fantasies. Fantasies is as close as there is to being a sure thing for FS at a Providence club.

Granted, you need to be in the right frame of mind. Fantasies is larger than Desire, but, at least on afternoons, it doesn’t have a party vibe, the layout isn’t particularly inviting, and the median attractiveness of the women is a cut or two below Desire. And it is sparsely attended, often with more dancers than patrons. But, it is a nice enough place, and overall a better option than the similarly extras-friendly dens of iniquity in the Philadelphia, Central and North Jersey corridor I more frequently haunt.

Since this is supposed to be a review of Fantasies, here is the mandatory physical description: Standalone building in a former industrial area about a mile west of downtown Providence. Very large parking lot. It is a quiet area, but it doesn’t seem dangerous. You empty out your metal and walk through a metal detector. Something usually alarms, but I always get waved through, perhaps because I’m white and older.
