Mid-Week Afternoon at the Orange

Second visit since Covid; last time I went was about 9-10 months ago. I did my usual lunch shift for what they call "Power Hour", where they have five dancers each do a three dance set with only a five minute break between each set. It's a great way to see a full rotation in just over an hour. After that, there's usually a 20-30 minute break between sets.

No cover, the place was very quiet, with a handful of the older regulars at the rail. The dancers ranged from 5 to 7, which is what I expect for the day shift. Three were white, one black, and one Asian. Sometimes, if you're lucky, one of the evening shift dancers might also be there for the power hour ... not today.

The dancers at Orange put on a good performance, which can be difficult when it's 12:30pm and six guys in the club, but most try their best on the stage (instead of just walking around and looking like they'd rather be somewhere else). $50 private dances are available upstairs, and advertised by the DJ; however, none of the girls walked the room after their set. Most just get changed and leave the club and then return in an hour or two when they have their next afternoon set. I'll most likely return in six months, like I always do, and I'm sure not much will have changed, like usual, but I kind of like it that way.
