Wasted my time

Background: I had a car trip to Sioux Falls and decided to stop at Cockatoo for a break; the club in Sioux Falls, Scarlett's, seemed kind of boring based on reviews here.

I went last Friday (8 days ago) and got there around 7PM. I found driving into Yankton to be a vision of what the 1960s/70s probably looked like with the older buildings, not much traffic. Cockatoo was down a side street off the main drag. Entrance was kind of odd as you walk in as it is next to a regular local bar/grill door. Street parking, the area wasn't well lit however it seemed safe.

A nice young girl sitting at a hostess station welcomed me in, then back to her smartphone. Her welcome made me think this may be a nice time. The place was "well worn", not a dive, just kind lower-end. The place had maybe 10 older (like 60+) guys with girls sitting and chatting with them like this was a typical early Friday evening. As you walk in off to the right is a billiard/pool table room. I stood at the bar for a good 5-7 minutes waiting on the bartender who kind of just ignored me - weird. The place was not busy. Oh well.
