The texting dancer during my couch dance . . .
I've been to the Vu pre-covid and after, usually going over every other month or so. Overall the main vibe works for me. Not high pressure, but I'm generally willing to tip for the time and value the entertainers bring. This past week was an exception. The weather might have been a factor. Snowing out, there was a lower number of patrons (which might have been a factor (who cares). I tipped the dancer on the stage during her set. She had a beautiful body, posture, and her stage presence was confident. She came over later and sat next to me, and after a few comments, she picked up her cell phone and started answering a text. Silence. Rather than sit there, I asked her for a couch dance. No problem. We went to the area where she let the song play before starting. She was preoccupied with her phone. She got more comfortable and began her dance. She started her lap dance, the entire time the phone was in her hands the whole time. She was facing away from me, texting someone (I moved my head around to see what was happening). The song ended, and she asked if I wanted another. NO. I paid for the dance & tip and left before she returned to her dance outfit. It must have been a bad night for her. I will say there are times (at the club) when the dancers get comfortable just sitting with groups rather than being up working the room.
