Stopping by 19th

While the trip to Philly for work is usually hit or miss, trips to Philly area clubs typically aren't. I stopped in one late afternoon to check out any changes that have sounded appealing at 19th Hole. On walking in, clearly the changes had nothing to do with the ambiance. Not a damn thing has changed about the look of this place in at least months, probably more. Only about 4 other customers in the building, so I knew I'd either get a lot of attention or be pretty bored. The bartender is a former dancer named Babydoll who was quick with drinks and had a nice smile. Beer was $5.25 I believe.

I only saw 3 AA dancers and one spinner white dancer on my venture here. Each dancer was on stage for two songs and there was at least a one song break between dancers. The first one to approach me was a AA spinner with an English accent and a ton of perfume slathered on. Seemed nice enough but not really my type. I was waiting for the white girl to come around, but she was parked with a regular the whole time and only moved to get on stage when I was almost out the door. One other stacked AA girl came over and made polite conversation, but she'd said it was very early on in her dancer tenure and thus I thought the $30 room (or more, if you spring for the $125 court) would be all that worth it. So I walked out with most of my money still in my pocket and moved on to my next stop. I did get the 2nd girl's number though and will see if anything comes of that.

Reading other reviews, it seems like I just came across a dead time or shift at this place and that it's going more towards a fun-centric experience in the couch room. Hopefully, because otherwise there's not much reason to stop here.
