Can Confirm, it's a Sure Thing.
The recent reviews of the day shift here had me very intrigued so I decided to check it out while in Pinellas on business. Much like Desert Scrub's mom, this place looks awful on the outside but when you get in it....it's still pretty awful. Parking was free and when I walked in I was met immediately by a door man who just waved me past him. As you enter, the lap dance rooms are immediately to your left. On the right, the rest of the club opens up with a large bar in the opposite end of the building and a large stage to the left of the bar. Lots of tables are scattered in between. Everything here is old. The carpet, the chairs, the tables, the barstools, the TVs, all show signs of age. Most notably though, the customers are old. I'm not a young man by any means but I was easily the youngest customer in the place by at least 15 years. Some of these dudes were easily in their 80s. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Ask me if I'm still mongering at 80 and I'll let you know. The bartender was nice enough and brought me an ice cold Modello for around $7 and I settled in to see what this place was about.
I identified about 5 girls that were working at the time. Don't hold me to that though there could have been more scattered around. Everyone hovered around the 5-6 range. They advertise that they have the best day shift in the Bay Area but I'm not entirely sure what they're basing that on. If it's based on value, I would have to agree. Here's why: I was immediately approached by a cute little spinner who asked if I wanted a dance but I was literally 2 minutes in so I was not quite ready yet and told her so. She said she'd be back to check on me. Then I was approached by a late 30s-early 40s enhanced Cuban. Clearly she was at the tail end of her career but she still looked like she would be fun. I still wasn't ready so I sent her away. Over the next 30 minutes I nursed my beer and watched looking to see if any other prospects caught me eye. Nothing did so when the first spinner approached again, I listened to her offer. She was a solid 6 moving into 7 territory but she was sweet so when she mentioned VIP I asked her to tell me more. She couldn't have made herself more clear. $100 to the club for the room for 15 minutes but tip the door guy and he'll leave you alone for a bit beyond that. $80 to her to sing for me, acoustically. Sold. I will say, I've had much better performances but she sang for as long as was needed. I went back to the bar finished my 2nd beer and headed home.
This place could definitely use a remodel. It gets the job done but there are much nicer places in the area. However, it's very easy to look past all that when you consider what kind of value you're getting.
