Afternoon on Hawthorne Blvd.

For several years, I frequented the Jet Strip but only in the afternoon. My work took me into that area and they had a killer daytime lineup of ladies who stayed around a while. They didn't dance for a few weeks and then move on, which is the way all the local clubs seem to be these days. I shifted from day shift to nighttime at the Jet Strip when my work situation changed and when my favorite dancers finally departed. This was my first time back in broad daylight in quite a while.

All the ladies were new to me except Teddie, who has been there forever but doesn't look it. I didn't see Danielle, who also has been dancing there for a long time. I took advantage of the free parking lot, got in with a pass and ordered a drink and a steak. I know most of you aren't interested in strip clubs as dining experiences but I had a darned good steak for around ten bucks.

After I'd ordered but before my steak arrived, I saw a dancer who looked even more enticing. She was a slender but well-formed brunette and I didn't get her name because I never saw her get on stage. She came by, engaged in the minimum chat before asking for a dance and when I told her I was waiting for my order, she said she'd come back later and she moved on, found a customer who wanted her and they disappeared into the back. I didn't see much of her after that as I finished my steak and turned down other ladies because I'd decided to spend my remaining funds on the slender brunette. But she never came by.
