Midweek Blues

Club is in an industrial area a few miles north of the beltway. Showcase has been around for years but has raised prices and quality has diminished since the pandemic. Parking is along the street and did not appear to be valet or outdoor security. No one manning the entrance booth today however was waved into the club by security and pointed to the bar area in back of the club. Cover was 20 dollars but it can be 30-40 on the weekends. 5 dollars for a soda and club is BYOB.

Before Covid there was an open lap dance area where you could sample for a song or more without paying a 20 dollar “go back” tax for each dancer. That option disappeared with the Covid reopening. I was happy to see that this option had now returned at least Monday through Thursday.

There were 6 dancers working around 10 pm and were another 3-4 to arrive after 11 pm. One dancer at a time on stage and there were periods of about 20 minutes with no one on stage. The big difference is that dancers were once again offering chair dances on the floor for 20 per song with no “go back tax”.

The chairs on the floor are not very comfortable for getting dances. There is no privacy on the main floor. Dances are shill shortened to 2-3 minutes. Music is very loud. But most girls were offering the chair dances but not on the weekends only Monday to Thursday. Usual prices in effect for private dances with 20 dollar “go back tax” and 30-40 per song. Oh and for the regulars at least one of the bathrooms has been repainted with paint from the “go back table” at the hardware store. No longer midnight blue but now much bluer. Paper towels empty but available behind the bar for a tip.
