Decent views on a Thursday
I visited Silk on Water from 9:40 to 11:00. I managed to find street parking one block to the east, near MSOE (the one and only available parking space I saw). Despite the name, the location is on Juneau, around the corner from Water.
I was charged $10 entry at the entry booth, and there was no pat-down, only a visual inspection of me. The light level is high (without any flashing lights) and the music is somewhat loud but tolerable: urban containing racy lyrics. This is a smaller club, with walls and ceiling that are painted black with acoustic tile in the ceiling. Straight ahead is the main, semicircle stage with a pole, around which there are padded chairs to sit at. To the left is a bar with seating, and there are 3 tables behind the stage with some seating, but at a crowded time, I imagine there would be standing room only. Behind the main stage and up a few stairs is a separate area where the DJ is, and another smaller stage which apparently gets used for private groups. There are 2 unisex bathrooms with locking outer doors, maintained decently.
No minimum drink purchase was enforced. Dancers were about 5 AA, 2 white, and 1 uncertain. There were 2 women customers (drunk) seated at the stage the whole time, and up to 4-6 men customers. Dancers' looks were pretty hot, rating 6--9, with no fatties. The main stage was kept occupied continuously with dancers introduced by the DJ, rotating 3 songs each.
