You’re better off staying downtown

On a Friday night, after a fairly long week, my friends decided to go to a strip club in Porto. We tried to go to another place called Life which was close to the downtown area we stayed in but the bouncer warned us it was dead and recommended we go to the Marosinho area. We found a taxi and came here.

The place was in a kinda sketchy feeling area, the whole street seemed closed and this was the only place open. We walked up to the entrance and the guy told us it was normally €20 to enter which got us a drink. We agreed but he didn’t charge us right away just gave us these discrete black hotel room like cards. We thought he was letting us in and our drink was the cover. We walked into a very fancy looking place, they seated us at a table but the place looked dead - maybe 3 girls working (all just talking to older gentlemen at other tables) and another at the bar.

We waited for around 10 min and a waitress came over to ask us what we wanted to drink. We tried to order something (fairly basic, I think vodka sprite or something) but she said she had to go check. After another 5-7 min, she came back and told us they didn’t have what we wanted. In this time, one girl moved on stage making only 2 on the floor and we were not feeling this place. We told her we wanted to leave so not to worry and she got very defensive and was like “wait, I’ll send girls here”. We asked if they had others to which he couldn’t respond. We started to get up and leave and the guy at the front stopped us and asked us to pay €80. We told him we’d waited there for 20 min, not gotten a drink yet, saw no one on stage, no one came and spoke to us but he demanded we pay him.
