First time back here in a couple years
I hadn’t been here since before Covid back when it was Fuzzy Holes, so I was surprised they’d revived the Mouse’s Ear name from another club that burned down about 10 years ago. I was in the Tri-Cities for business and drove over from Kingsport on a Wednesday evening after 9 PM. Still in a sketchy part of JC, but that was expected. I think the cover was $20 but I don’t pay a lot of attention to cover charges. First impression inside was it was a LOT cleaner and neater with a better layout. Bar to the left as you walk in, large area with tables to the right, and a stage mid-room. I’m not positive but the stage looked different than the old one, maybe it was the room layout. DJ booth behind the stage but I think it was auto play. I didn’t see a DJ. Private dance area was beyond the stage. That had been newly completed last time I was there. Music was fine, lighting was enough to see the dancers, but not too bright. The crowd seemed like a lot of regulars, mostly working class guys in their 20s and early 30s. One older guy was throwing lots of money around and had a constant entourage of dancers streaming in and out of the private rooms, which was too bad because they were some of the cutest girls in the place.
Miller light longnecks were $4, so not great but not terrible.
I didn’t do a headcount but I would guess they were 15 or 20 dancers there which seemed like a large number. The club was a lot more crowded than I had ever seen it, but maybe that’s because it has been renovated since I was here last time. The dancers were mostly white, with a few black or Asian girls. As far as looks go to the dancers were probably 5 to 8, with a couple of really nice looking girls and a couple that were kind of out of shape.
