Underwhelming Tuesday evening
Tiki Cabaret is in a drab cement-block building off of Main street in High Point. You park in a large lot behind the building, go in through a back door where there is a little room you pay the $5 cover before going in. The club is set up in one room with a long bar against the back wall and a main stage stretching through the middle of the space. There is also a second stage opposite the main, but I never saw anyone using it. The club is on the small side, but wasn't crowded when I was there.
I arrived at Tiki shortly after opening on a Tuesday, around 5:15, this was maybe my third time at the club, but it had been over a year since I'd been. When I first walked in, I was greeted by the bartender and asked to pay the cover($5). She warned me that there were no girls ready and that it would probably be an hour before anyone got on stage. Against my better judgment I ordered a beer for $4 and stuck around. There was only one other patron in the place, and no girls to be found. Girls started to trickle into the club in their street clothes and eventually one got on stage around 6.
Over the next hour 4-5 girls took turns on stage. The dancers were a mix of black and white girls. There was one athletic AA dancer I tipped, but never saw again. The next dancer was a cute white girl with some tattoos and piercings. I tipped her and she joined me at my table after her stage time. These two were the only dancers I'd call attractive in the joint.
I ended up taking the entertainer at my table to the dance area. Dances are $20 per song, I said I would start with two. She reminded me there is a strict no-touching rule, and she was not exaggerating. Anything less than hands to my sides was called out. The dance was mediocre at best so I stopped after two finished my beer and left.
Overall, the experience at Tiki Cabaret is very underwhelming. The one plus I can find is the price of cover, drinks, and dances are all better than average for clubs in the area. On the negative, the entainers are meh, the atmosphere is blah, and the dances are pointless. I guess if you're in High Point with an hour to kill there are worse things you could do, but other than that do yourself a favor and drive up to Greensboro where you can find several superior clubs.
