Husntville's best option
Was in Huntsville for the weekend, after doing some research it looked like Pony Bama was the best place to start my Saturday evening.
Easy to find off the highway via Google--plenty of red / pink lights, there is no doubt this place is a sc, lol. Plenty of free parking. Friendly bouncer met me at the door, patted me down and checked to make sure I had ID before going in. Went inside to the cover desk, they checked my id, but Veterans always get in free (thank you!). Two things stuck me right off the bat, it was bright in there for a sc and there's really no place to slink in and check the place out. It's just one big room with the stage in the center. When visiting a new place, I like to sit at the bar and check the place out a little bit. The bar is just one edge of the room, so you can't really do that. Beers were $7 a piece, and the bar staff were cute and very attentive. That's one big positive, the staff and other clientele were really polite & friendly all-around.
Another reviewer said it was, "a couple 8's and a bunch of 3's" and I really can't say it better than that. There were a couple of top-shelf type pros that came down from Nashville or are on the circuit and the rest were normal, local girls. One feature was a small tv screen on the wall that showed the roster and the "batting order" of dancers that were coming up. This is a great feature! HOWEVER the list of girls never matched how many dancers I actually saw. There was one on stage, a couple working the room, I guess a couple in VIP but the math didn't work. I asked one of the dancers about this and she said, "Yeah, they're in the back", meaning dressing room. My local here in FL has a dozen+ girls working the floor on a Tuesday, not to mention Sat night. As the roster went through, the girls appeared, but many didn't seem to be working the room while they weren't "on". Kind of a bummer, because I can pretty quickly tell my type and who'd I'd like to spend some time with. When they're not out on the floor, you're kind of sitting there, "Welp...X is up next, I wonder if she'll be hot?". If she's not your type, you're just kind of waiting there for the next one, and the next. Maybe this is a strategy to get you to drink more beer, but it kind of sucks. It was ~$20-25 for a dance and $150 for 15mins in the VIP. The VIP is up some stairs and two rows of little facing couches under a bouncer's supervision. I bought a couple of dances from a nice 30-something dancer who was really sweet, but I took a lot of money out with me. I went to Rocket City and Uncle's later but they were no better and had the same problem of a long roster on the screen but only 3-4 actually around. Headed back to my hotel, still with a wad of cash, I should have just stayed at Pony. I'm from Central FL, so maybe a bit spoiled, but I thought a 5-6 club town in a part of the country with tons of lovely women would have stronger game. Pros: Really nice people, good value for what you get. Cons: Where are the dancers?
