Checking out Treasures
In town for business, I managed to beg out of yet another dinner/evening with coworkers to check out Treasures. After navigating the Houston roads, traffic and construction (it seems like it takes an hour to get anywhere) I arrived at the club sometime between 9 and 10. The club is in a decent commercial area that seems safe. Parking is either $20 for valet or $5 for self-park. Cover was $15.
The main room of the club was dark but not annoyingly so - I could see the girls. One large stage with a pole. There's a bar near the entrance and then another bigger one in the back along something like a corridor that leads to the lap dance area. There's another stage back there but it wasn't being used. I grabbed a seat in a booth that was reasonably clean and spacious. Ordered a $7.50 bottle of water and asked for $10 back from the twenty I gave the waitress. When she came back with my change I got $90 back - turns out that I'd accidentally given her a Benjamin that I didn't realize was in my stack. So props to the waitress for honesty.
I was almost immediately set upon by a pair of dancers who had seen me come in. During conversation I mentioned that I hadn't been there before and they moved into shark mode, trying to sell me on the expensive VIPs ($300 for 30 mins I think?) since "that's what the club was about". They also said that lap dances were sold in sets of 3 for $100, which I knew was overpriced. Normally I don't admit to being new to a club but I also tend not to dance with this kind of dancer team anyway, so I enjoyed listening to their spiel before sending them on their way.
