Return to Showcase

This is a review from Friday June 10. This was my second visit to Showcase since the pandemic closure. As has been pointed out by others Showcase is trending toward Fuego these days. On this evening I saw maybe 4 AA and 2 Caucasian dancers. One of the Caucasian dancers was a familiar face from the past. The rest of the dancers were Latina, including several familiar faces. And the music tends to reflect this shift. Roughly 24 dancers were working by the time I left at 12:30. Many of the dancers are heavily inked. The dancers are a variety of body types, from rail thin to BBW. There should be someone for most every taste. Although if your thing is Asians, it appears Showcase’s lone, longtime Asian dancer has apparently retired from dancing.

Doors open at 9:00. I arrived around 10 and was able to grab a seat because there was no crowd yet. Friday and Saturday night cover is $30. The pre-pandemic $10 discount for arriving before 9:30 no longer exists. I don’t know if the cover is $20 on the other nights, like it used to be. The club is BYOB. You can purchase a $5 cup at the bar and return to your vehicle to fill it up and come back inside with your beverage. Sodas (in 12 oz. cans), water and Red Bull are available for $5 each.

The crowd, while mixed, definitely was majority Latino. There were a couple of groups of guys with girls which is not a common sight there, at least to these eyes. Because I have been taken advantage of more than once by the Latina dancers I tend to stay away from them now. The language barrier makes it difficult for me to interact with the Latina dancers. And I am not adept at Google translate.
