Not a full train wreck, more like a partial derailment
I had been to L&L University and had a good experience despite it being a small, hole in the wall club. I can't say the same was true for L&L Southend. It is a hole in the wall as well, but that's where the similarities end.
Entry was $15 and the place was pretty empty - I wasn't happy that they actually took my money with the place being empty. I got an import beer, which was less than $10 - which I deem reasonable. I looked around and only saw one dancer playing pool, but nobody was on stage, which I found interesting. After getting my beer, I decided to take a seat to see if someone would come on stage. Nobody did, but they did call all the dancers on stage for a 3 for 2 + shooter special. 4 dancers came on stage - 1 asian, 2 white, and 1 AA. Average rating about a 4. I grabbed the AA dancer for the special and knew I was leaving right after. Dance was fine. I never got my shooter. She said 'I don't even know why they say that, we don't have shooters.'
The club is in a nice area so safety isn't an issue, but the lack of dancers (and patrons) was an issue, especially for a $15 cover. I won't return.
