No drama day shift might be shifting
After several months of slow but steady improvement of the DTC day shift, things seem to have taken a step backwards on my recent June weekday visit. I arrived about 3:30 on a Thursday, no cover. In fact, hardly anyone in the place. I think there was just one customer sitting at the bar with two dancers. Three dancers were taking a break outside the front door. One dancer on stage.
It had been a couple months since I've had a chance to stop by. The usual day shift waitress was not there. She usually brings me my preferred glass of chardonnay right to my table when I arrive but the new girl did just fine. Cost was $14 with tip. Later with a dancer at my table in conversation a different waitress stops by to ask if I'd like to buy her a drink. I declined but the waitress says there is a two-drink minimum. Never in all the iterations of this place (DTC, Schieks Palace Royale or Solid Gold) have they ever had a two-drink minimum. But I don't make a stink about it, buy the drink and keep the peace. But I will ask management about it on my next visit.
Was dived by early by a couple b-squaders and quickly shooed them away. Enjoyed my drink and dividing my attention between some lackluster stage dancing and sports on the TV above the bar. Then Sydney approached.
