Kandy's big on party atmosphere but not enough fun.

It's been about three years since I last visited Kandy's so decided to visit again this memorial weekend. I arrived around 11:30 to a packed parking lot. Far more people than the last time I visited. Prices hadn't changed much, VIP rooms were $80 for 20 minutes, $120 for 40 and $160 for an hour if I recall. There was also shower shows, bed dances and prices for individual songs, which I don't recall.

Unlike previous visits, I didn't get nearly as friendly a vibe as before. When I first entered I was asked if I had a cell phone by the bouncer at the door, three years ago never was once asked. Cover was $20 and they scanned my ID which I don't recall before. The guy taking money then reminds me there is no cell phones allowed. They then gave me a name tag with my name on it. I can't recall if this happened before.

No sooner had I entered the main club I am asked again a third time "do you have a cell phone?" And not to further be reminded, there are multiple signs mentioning no cell phones allowed. The club hasn't changed much internally, except there is now a carpet, where it was once concrete if I recall. The stage is still just as large and two dancers were on stage. There was also a mannequin on stage sitting in a chair, which I don't recall before.
