Going through the Commotions

I spent the week in Columbus for work and tried to hit up every one of the listings there but every. Single. One. Was shuttered. On my way back to Atlanta, I saw one more pin in the map for Commotions in LaGrange. I prefer hole in the wall places to upscale titty bars anyways, so I figured I'd give it a shot and see if it was open. My sights were set low after my Columbus strikeout and their last review here was like a year ago. I took a jaunt off of 85 to see if it was open. Their website said they opened at 6 so I grabbed dinner and got there a few minutes after.

As I pulled up, there was two cars and a motorcycle out front and a door propped open (a door propped open on a strip club?)... but there was signs of life. The door that was open was clearly not the entrance, so I wandered over to the entrance and noticed the "hours" sign said it opened at 5. Man, I'm glad I didn't get there at 5.

Walking in, there's 2 pool tables surrounded by benches that alternate between "made from pallets" and "reclaimed from a shuttered bus station". Then there's a bar that's made from 2x4's and plywood with stools, no 3 of which match. There is a stage that I only saw one girl do a single unenthusiastic one song dance on, but I want complaining. There was a few tables around the bar and some booths along the back wall. I noticed a ring stage on the front wall. It looked like it was about 6 foot square. The entire place had a cement floor and everyone but me was either baking or smoking cigarettes.

Most beers were $4 each but some were $5.50. There seemed to be deals for buying buckets of 6 and I got $1 off of my beers, but I never figured why. It sounded like there was supposed to be a cover but I came in early enough that I never got charged.

I saw 3 girls on the floor...2 heavier white girls that I'd call 4's and one wearing a schoolgirl outfit that was actually pretty cute. A real cute white girl and two AAs walked in and went in the back but never emerged. All told, I spent 2 hours waiting for a girl to dance and only saw that one girl and her quasi-dance. I drank 4 beers, spent a little over $20 and decided to leave...
