After reading reviews and hearing adds for the Gold Club, I decided to give it a try. I really like Dean's Gold Club in Miami, so I hoped this club might have the same vibe. I arrived at about 11pm after checking out Scarlett's in Ybor City. The club was nice. As you enter, there is a bar directly in front of you. The main stage is to the left. VIP rooms were back and to the left.
I grabbed a bourbon from the bar, about $12, as I recall. I was not the only customer in the club, but I was the only customer in the main stage area. It only took a few minutes to realize that every dancer on shift was Cuban. Nothing against Cuban girls - I have had some great times with many of them. But I want a club to have some variety. If I feel like getting dances from a Cuban girl, great. But if I don't, I would like some other choices. The dancers ranged from 4 to 6. I decided to save my money for another night and another club.
The club could have just been slow because it was Monday night. But there was nothing here to make me want to come back. I will check out some other Tampa clubs the rest of the week.
