More than expected
I visited Ecstasy Theatre on Saturday afternoon May 14,2022 between 2:45 and 4:15 pm. The club is in south Santa Ana near the border with Costa Mesa on Warner Ave near Fairview St. It’s a stand alone building with its own walled parking lot that was plenty big enough this afternoon but might be a little small if the club was full. It’s in a newer mostly industrial/commercial area. A rectangular building with the entrance on the short street side. No security stuff at the entrance. You pay a $10 cover at a window just inside the door and then enter the club through a barred one-way revolving door. The stage is straight ahead along the long axis of the club. It is a “dog-bone” shape with round portions at the ends each with a pole and a straight walkway between them. There are about 30 chairs up against the tip rail. Dancers enter the far end of the stage with the DJ desk right there. The right side of the building has chairs and small tables. The near end of the building has 3 rows of 5 chairs in a theater type arrangement. The lap dance rooms (won’t call them VIP since there’s only one kind) are in the near left corner. Past that are the dancers dressing room and then the restrooms. The mens room was only one each urinal, toilet, sink but clean enough. Most the rest of the left wall was the bar which was just a standing space no stools.
Almost immediately after entering and getting my eyes to adjust from the bright sunlight outside to the dark inside I was hit up by the waitress for the required 2 drinks at $7 each. Very little selection only Coke, Sprite and water. The water had a choice of chilled or room temperature but was just plain water as sold in any supermarket. It’s kind of awkward carrying two bottles of water around with you. There were I think 6 dancers and about an equal number of customers. I asked a dancer if this was a usual crowd for a Saturday afternoon and she replied since it was a hot day (about 90 degrees) a lot of people went to the beach. The lighting was the usual strip club flashing LEDs dark but not too dark. There weren’t any TV screens. The dancers were a mix of ethnicities I think two Latina, two white, one oriental and I think one light skinned AA. They were all good looking, early to mid 20’s and except for one were what one would call full-bodied, full-breasted, but not overweight. Except when there were occasional breaks without a dancer on stage, not surprising with such a small number they danced two song sets mostly getting nude fairly early in the set. The ceilings are low so short poles and not much scope for pole work. The music volume was reasonable not super loud like some places. I believe the dancers can tell the DJ what song they would like. After our lap dance session the dancer said to me I’ll dance for you on the stage now what music do you like. Anyway there wasn’t any of this rap you hear so much.
The dancers were active in approaching customers. After saying maybe a couple of times this one dancer sits down by me and starts stroking me here and there with her hands. She pulled her top down to show the nipples and remarked I could suck on them back in the lap dance room. She also asked if I liked to kiss and when I replied yes said that would also be available. After a bit of conversation about her being a college student in psychology we went to the lap dance room. These rooms have beds like chaise lounges where you can lie fully flat and the dancer can get on top of you. They are individual spaces with heavy drapes closing the entrance. We were not interrupted during our time in the room. The only price is $50 per song. The songs are at least 4 minutes long. We did 3 songs and for all we did it seemed like it was more than 12 minutes so maybe they were longer than 4 minutes. The dancer started at the beginning of a song and asked if I wanted to continue at the song breaks. The $50/song was paid at the bar, but after the session not before.
