Lots of customers, little action on Saturday prime time
So I've been on the Seville bandwagon lately and then tonight happened. I was at a swanky fund-raiser party for much of the night, was feeling good and energized and thought it would be great to cap off the night with some lovely ladies in my lap.
But fortunes took a quick reverse turn from my experiences of late fall and winter. I arrived at about 12:30 a.m. on a Saturday night and doorman told me the place was full but there were a few seats still available. He was right and I got a seat about 3 rows back from the stage. Now my prior visits were on Friday or weekend evenings, so maybe Saturday is an outlier. But it was not close to being the same club. while there was a steady stream of performers on stage, the talent was b-squad level for the most part. A few girls with a bit of a belly on them. Very little tipping going on. And unlike the other downtown clubs, no one was making it rain.
And best I could tell there were only 2 or 3 dancers giving floor dances ($20) at any given time. Basically a sausage fest of guys, and a few gals, watching the stage action. Very few dancers circulating to ask for dances. I was only approached one (by a C-squader) and I kept trying to make eye contact with dancers I was interested in, but to no avail. I can kind of understand if dancers had given up on the night if it had been a crowd of low-spenders all evening.
