I went to Beansnappers at 17:30 on a Saturday evening. There was a $10 cover charge, but it included two drinks. You get your first drink right away and are given a card to redeem your second drink later on later on. Drink options are cans of soda, nonalcoholic beer, and bottled water. I enjoyed a couple cans of Dr. Pepper. Since the club does not have an alcohol license, anyone eighteen years old and over is allowed inside. Unlike some of the other clubs in the Fox Valley, there is no scan of your driver's license. The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $200 per swipe and charges a $5 fee per transaction.
There is a square island bar in front of you as you enter. To the right and dominating the floorplan is a long island stage with three pole positions. The pole that is farthest down the stage is actually a fire pole. Some of the dancers will slide down the fire pole from the second floor when they go on stage. The dressing room is on the second level. There are only five tables. The rest of the seating is stage side.
Dancers do three song sets on stage. The first song is clothed. The second song is topless. The third song is fully nude. There is no contact between tippers and the entertainers other than having breasts rubbed in your face. When you tip, you have to just toss your dollars onto the stage, although a couple girls would grab the dollars from your hand by pressing their boobs together. As soon as the dancers finished dancing on stage, they would head straight back to the dressing room instead of socializing with the customers. Dancers seemed to make $30 to $40 in singles per stage performance.

Private dances are one song for $25 or three songs for $60. VIP rooms are fifteen minutes for $100, thirty minutes for $150, forty-five minutes for $200, and sixty minutes for $250. It looked like there were four lap dance booths along the east wall of the club and two VIP rooms on the west side of the room. I wanted to get a few dances just to see what they were like, but all of the dancers quickly disappeared to the dressing room after their stage sets were through. Maybe the dancers are content with stage money and don’t care to do private dances. Due to signs on the wall stating you can’t touch the dancers, I am guessing private dances and VIP rooms would be one-way contact at best, and possibly less.
Another interesting thing about this strip club is that it is haunted and has occasional poltergeist activity inside. Apparently the building has been around since 1877, and at least five people died inside, including three children in a fire. There is also a cemetery directly across the road. The building is situated very close to the road and has had cars and trucks drive right into the building several times. One of the television screens in the club plays a loop of footage of paranormal activity caught on camera inside the building like doors opening and closing and objects moving on the bar.
I asked Keg, the manager, why the strip club was called Beansnappers. He said the original owner worked in the lumber industry up north. The lumberjacks would finish a week of work and go to town to get their “bean snapped”. It was slang for having sex, so a “beansnapper” is a woman that pleases you sexually. Beansnappers is an alright club if you enjoy nude stage shows, but you aren’t going to get your bean snapped at Beansnappers. I don’t think I will return.
