sinclair's Review
I used to go to Centerfold Lounge when in Parkersburg, but a few weeks ago that strip club burned down, so I took my dollars to the VIP Club. The strip club is located on the side of a hill. The gravel parking lot is held up by a retaining wall. I showed up at 19:15 on a Wednesday. The door is locked, so you have to ring a doorbell to be let in. There was some kind of ID scan and a $5 cover charge. A Sincweiser was $4, and a Jager Bomb was $6. The dress code seemed to be lax as long as you don't wear biker gang colors. The inside is less than 2,000 square feet, but it is nicely furnished with colored lights and a few leather couches along the walls. A small bar with about a half dozen stools is to the left as you enter. The rectangle main stage is in the middle of the room with a stationary pole, a hanging brass hoop, and a spinning pole from left to right.
Dancers looked better than I was expecting. All of the dancers were Caucasian, and most were in their twenties. There was no stage contact from what I could tell. You could slide your dollars into the dancer’s g-string, and that was about it. Once dancers are nude, you have to just toss tips on the stage. Even though this is a nude club, most of the dancers only stripped down to topless on stage. VIP Club runs a dancer drink scam. Drinks for dancers cost $20. The club gets half, and the dancer gets half. They don’t push too hard as only one dancer tried to get me to buy her a drink the whole time I was there. Dancers seemed to only socialize with regulars. I was tipping the stage generously, but I was ignored. Another guy who was from Texas got treated like he was a leper. If you want to get play time, you have to chase down the dancers.
