Killing a pleasant hour in Glendale
I had an hour to kill between some errands, so decided to stop in here.
The club is located on an industrial frontage road tucked between some train tracks and the LA River. It's actually pretty bustling, though, at least during the day, so I doubt it's at all unsafe. Suburban types might feel intimidated by the location, though. Parking is behind the club, and I could see the smallish lot being a potential issue at more of a peak hour; valet, presumably. I don't imagine street parking being a great move in that neighborhood.
When I arrived a bit before noon, I was somewhat brusquely informed by the otherwise friendly manager/bouncer/bartender type that the daytime cover was not in fact $5 as I had read here, but $20 — "You must be thinking of another club" — and paid it, after being informed that one dancer had already arrived and a few others would be arriving over the next hour. In a conciliatory gesture, the bouncer gave me a free bottled water with my cover and changed a couple twenties for singles.
