Multiple Visits Over Two Afternoons
Visited Curves on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. I have never been to a club in this area before and didn't know what to expect. When you walk in, you are stopped at a velvet rope by the cashier. The first visit was around 4 pm, so I had to pay a $5 cover to a girl that looked like she also dances. There was an option to pay more for a 30 day pass I think. On the second visit, I got there around 2 and there was no cover. But both times I had to wait at the rope for a bouncer to arrive and take me to my seat. I found this odd since it was not crowded either day and there were plenty of seats. I suppose this is done for tips? But neither time did the bouncer ask for a tip or even wait around long enough for me to offer one. It was like they were trying hard to be a fancy club.
I did like the layout of the club. There are three stages. The main stage is elevated and in the center of the of the room. There are two small, round, satellite stages, one on each side of the main stage. On both visits, only two of the stages were in use. I found it unusual that there were no chairs right at the stages. Instead, there are small round tables all over the room, some in front of the stages, with 4 cushioned chairs surrounding the tables. Behind the tables is a long bar with some chairs in front of the bar. If you sit at the bar, however, your back will be to the club unless you turn the chair around. Overall, it is an interesting and comfortable layout. The set-up allows for the girls to come by, sit and chat for awhile. The set-up also prevents a dollar parade. The girls dance on the stages and guys simply walk up if they feel the need to tip. Each afternoon, I settled into my seat, bought a bottle of water, and enjoyed the show. I did not drink alcohol since I was driving so I don't know drink prices, but the water was $5.
I was surprised at the number of girls that were working in the afternoon. I would say there were about 12 girls each day, mostly white and Latina. I would rate most girls between a 5-7 overall since a bunch were a little overweight. There were some stunning looking girls (8s-9s) mixed in, especially the first afternoon. But the good looking girls all seemed to talk amongst themselves, play on their phones, or hang out talking with regulars. The rest of the girls came around often. They were all very friendly and most would chat for a few minutes before asking for a dance. The worst part of this club is the inconsistent dance prices. They have two types of dances that are offered. Floor dances for which I was quoted $15 and $20 per song and VIP dances that were held in a secluded back room for which I was quoted $30 and $35. There was also a Champagne Room on the side of the club, but I have no details on that since it never came up. In the two afternoons I was there, I saw only one person getting a floor dance. I was told there was no touching on the floor, but from what I saw it looked like the girl was still able to make contact.
