Visited: Thursday Afternoon

This is the first review I’ve done in two years since I haven’t been to any clubs during the time of Covid. During that time I’ve also moved form the east coast to Southern California .

I visited Cheetahs San Diego on the afternoon of Thursday March 31, 2022 from about 4 to 5:30 pm. The club is on Clairemont Mesa Blvd north of downtown and just south of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar. In many cities this far from downtown would be out in the suburbs but San Diego has very geographically extensive city limits. It’s between the 805 and 163 freeways. If you are coming from the north as I was take 52 freeway from the 805 or 163, get off at Convoy St, south a short way, turn left onto Clairemont Mesa and it’s a block or so on the right. It’s across the street from Mossy Nissan, a large regional car dealership. It’s a standalone building in the same parking lot as a strip mall. The fairly large parking area was almost full when I got there although apparently not with people in the club which was not very full at the time. The area is mixed commercial/industrial.

It’s a rather wide rectangular building with the entrance at one corner. Beyond the entrance along the shorter wall is the “icebox” rooms for the half hour lap dances. There are a couple of ATM’s along this wall too. Next most of the width of the room is taken by the square shaped main stage with one pole. The stage is surrounded by a kind of “moat” at floor level and then outside that is a counter around the whole perimeter of the stage with chairs on the outside of that. Along the long sides of the building opposite the stage are rows of niches with tables. Past the stage area are counters and then the bar which altogether forms a square with stools along it. The front half of this is bar itself and back half has inside it a second stage with one pole, not used during this visit. Back of this across most of the width of the building and along part of the right side are the regular lap dance booths, which are called VIP. The rest rooms are at the rear corners of the building and are ample and clean no attendant. The room was rather dark with rotating colored lights directed at the stage.
