Sapphire Times Square Long Awaited Re-Re-Opening

Sapphire Times Square finally reopened on Tuesday, October 15, 2022, after being shut down for about 8 months. I thought it was odd that they had reopened after the pandemic and then abruptly closed again. I asked one of the hosts and he said that there was extensive flood damage from rain and that the roof collapsed and the whole club had to be renovated again. That makes sense because with the exception of a small entranceway, the entire club is located in a lower-level basement.

I did not want to come on reopening week because I figured it would be too crowded, so I came the second week on Friday night at about 11:30 PM. The Club is located on Broadway and 52nd Street and is called Sapphire Times Square. However, Times Square is really Broadway from 42nd Street to 49th Street. Just as well, as Times Square is too crowded and touristy and has a high crime rate. Thus location is actually very good and relatively safe.

The cover charge in the evenings is $20. I mentioned the name of a promoter friend of mine and got in free and even got a free premium drink ticket. In fact, I was surprised it was so quiet. There were only about 15 guys and about 25 girls in the place. I was told it gets more of a weekday after work and late-night crowd.
