I'm going to describe criket for the serious hobbyists and tourists but most of us know that the Detroit city limits scene tanked before covid and the action was always better in the suburbs that border the city. The clubs in Dearborn, Inkster and Lincoln Park, like criket, are unchanged (safe and relatively fun) and the clubs in Detroit are under scrutiny and slowly recovering. Penthouse closed before covid and no one knows if it will re-open soon.
Criket is an 'old' club and hasn't had any physical changes in the past 15 years. They did it right when they built it and the owners had good managers that kept it low key and off the radar. The crowd they cater to doesn't go for flashy places that attract attention and the talent played by the rules and kept a friendly vibe. A lot of good dancers have worked at criket and danced as along as they could and the new talent filled the void when they left. But it's got to be hard to find staff. Tough job, managing a bunch of naked girls and guys that like to drink.
I came in after five and the lot had fewer than 30 cars. Nevertheless most of the seats at the bar were taken and a few tables were open. I don't collect names and stats for reviews. No one wore a mask. There were two slender-like dancers at the bar and a two chubby-like white dancers on the stage.
Crowd was mostly white middle age guys because it's early and the night brings a different vibe. Days are pretty chill and the place feels safe. The few nights I've been here it's a completely different experience.
Being post covid, strip clubs are still figuring things out. I think criket is moving in the right direction. Still no smoking, thank god.
I only had an hour and I was lucky to find someone who wanted to have fun. Gorgeous compact and athletic body, great personality and a blast. Just what I needed. If only medical insurance paid for strip clubs and the important service they provide. I left happy.
