I went to Vivide at 21:00 on a Friday night. With prior knowledge of how these Atlanta jiggle joints rape you on parking fees, I parked near a few bars about two blocks away and walked to the club. The East African guy in charge of the parking lot started an argument with me because I avoided his ludicrous $40 parking fee. He told me my vehicle is not safe anywhere else, it would get broken into, and I should move it into his parking lot. I just told him to fuck off.

Before entering, I was padded down for weapons to the point that I felt sexually violated. The security guy's hand was slapping my junk outside of my jeans looking for a heater. Good thing I left it in my rig. This venue had a lot more security than a typical strip club, and they seemed to be wearing bulletproof vests. Once inside the door, I was assessed a $40 cover charge. I learned that the cover charge is higher the later you enter. One dancer said it could be $100 if there is a big party going on.

The inside of the club has two levels. You enter on the upper level and then can go down stairways on either end of the room down to the lower level. Both levels have a bar. I asked for a Sincweiser, but this club did not have any Budweiser. What kind of club carries piss beer like Modelo, but does not carry the King of Beers? I had to settle for a Bud Light at the $6 price point. The lower level is where most of the action was happening, but as it got crowded down there, the upstairs level got livelier. The floorplan is wide open, and it is more luminescent than many strip clubs. Most guys just lounged on the couches and would do occasional floor dances. The dancers that did get up on stage usually didn’t get tipped. It was more about advertising their body.
