First visit to TJ… won’t be the last

I booked a somewhat impromptu trip to TJ after a few weeks of doing research via YouTube and the Tuscl site and wanted to do my part in putting a review in for HK. This wasn’t my first time mongering in Mexico as I had some previous experience years ago in Puerto Peñasco and have done plenty of mongering overseas in Southeast Asia, so I’m no stranger to being in developing countries.

Flew in to San Diego on Jan. 24 (for a Monday to Wednesday trip) then took the free shuttle to the rental car center and made the short walk to the Middletown trolley station to get to San Ysidro. Walked across the border with no problems and there was no FMM form shakedown for $30 at all. I was asked by the border agent where I was going and I simply said “Zona Norte” and was waived through to go to the X-ray. I decided to forego a taxi ride to Cascadas and instead made the walk to the hotel just to get a feel for the city. No problems whatsoever and it was completely fine at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Made it to Cascadas, secured my VIP card, and checked in to my double deluxe room on the 4th floor that I had booked online the week before.
