It's not fancy or glitzy but...

It's not fancy or glitzy but a trip back to Escape Reality confirmed that it's the top of the list in the Michiana area. South Bend's clubs--awful for years--are disappearing. Kalamazoo's new Deja Vu & Little Darlings haven't been very impressive so far. So Escape Reality rules if you're stopping off in SW Michigan or NW Indiana. Once you get past the small town bar feel when you walk in, it's not a bad place. Head to the back, where the sizeable stage and VIP areas are. Ignore the regulars up front at the bar. Still those annoying long 8 ft. banquet tables, so you may have to grab a chair at a table already occupied by someone. They won't care, they are used to it. The lighting in the club is pretty good and the sound system is OK. DJ is average, not obnoxious. ER has an interesting changing theme each night. Rather than Vu type specials, they have interactive games w/ prizes,, etc. A couple of guys are invited up on stage to particpate in various contests w/ the dancers about once an hour. Seems strange but comes off better than it sounds. It also shows off the personality of the dancers more than just a stage dance. In a couple of recent visits, I've been impressed with the number and quality of girls working. Candy is a special favorite, but several seem to be in high demand for private dances. Private is a bit of an overstatement, since everyone is in the same room, behind some portable partitions, behind the stage. Booths would be better but you get used to it, and the dancers don't seem to be intimidated. Contact is excellent but of course YMMV. Mgmt seems friendly & rarely gets in the way. They seem to be there if a girl has a problem but not overbearing at all. An excellent club for where it's at.
