Sapphire Times Square is an Opulent Gem But it has Been Closed for Months Now

I had gone 2 years ago to the Grand Opening of the Sapphire Times Square location and had an amazing time. They really made a big effort in flying in some of the hottest girls from California and Las Vegas and providing a delicious free buffet that included sushi. The Club was essentially the same design as the old Flashdancers club with the large circular bar in the front and the stage in the back. However, the club was completely redesigned and absolutely beautiful with more opulent private rooms. It was clear that it was a multi-million dollar complete renovation. Unlike other strip clubs in Manhattan where all the girls charge $20 a lap dance, this club gives the girls some latitude in charging what they want as independent contractors. Some girls were asking for $30 or $35 for a lap dance or 3 for $100.

More recently, I came back to check out the Saphire Times Square location and I was told that the DJ did not show up that night, but that I could get free admission and a free ride to one of their clubs at Sapphire 39 or Saphire 60. I took them up on their offer and their driver took me to Sapphire 60 and I gave him a $30 tip. A few weeks later, I checked the website and saw that Sapphire Times Square was open that night and I went over. I was told by the security guard that there was a broken pipe and a flood and the club was closed. Again, I was offered a ride to Sapphire 60 and I tipped the driver $30. Two weeks later, I checked the website and called up and confirmed that Sapphire Times Square was open and called my Uber to go over and was told the Club was closed for renovations. At that point, I was baffled and just went over to Flashdancers Midtown. I later heard from a friend that Sapphire Times Square had a problem with their liquor license. I then looked up the location on the New York State Liquor Authority website and was surprised to see that their liquor license was not renewed. So disappointed that such a new beautiful club is closed.
