Wednesday Visit

Like many of you, it’s been awhile since I have visited a club thanks to our new friend COVID-19. Now that traveling for work is an option again, I managed to make my way back to NYC. Pre-COVID I visited Flashdancers on Broadway several times when work took me there. I’ve always had a good experience, but I’ve been at this long enough to know what to expect in Manhattan. I have to first note that I have never visited any other club in NYC, mostly because I’ve never personally had a reason to. But I recognize that everyone is looking for something different, so it might not be for you. For me however, Flashdancers is still a good experience.

I went to the midtown location because it was within walking distance of my hotel.

As others have noted, the new location is a mixed bag. I definitely preferred the Broadway location for a couple of reasons. First, it was closer to where I always stay. :) But that aside, the new location is definitely smaller and it lacks that special “dark corner” the old place had where things could get a little spicier with the right girl. Still, the interior of the new club is classy. You enter into the bar area, which features a couple of small stages where dancers were all night. It’s a bit awkward since you can’t see anything while sitting at the bar unless you turn around, but it’s not terrible. The old location, with the girls inside the bar area was definitely better.
