First visit to Showcase post-pandemic. I arrived on Saturday night 11/20 after 11. Showcase is in an industrial area, sort of off the beaten track. For those who are unfamiliar with the club’s location, I noted they now have a portable sign out front that is facing the road. The surrounding area might look sketchy, but I really don’t think it is. The parking lot was full, which was a surprise to me. I guess I’m used to arriving earlier in the evening. The parking situation at Showcase isn’t great if you are unable to park on the lot. The vehicle wrap place next door tows now. There are a handful of spots on the street. Once those are gone you are sort of in no man’s land. I ended up down the block in front of business that apparently doesn’t tow. I have parked there in the past. From there, it’s a couple minute walk back to the club.

I paid the $30 cover and got buzzed in. Security put the X on my hand with a highlighter as always. I was not patted down. The club was packed, standing room only, which also surprised me. Although since the lot was full maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised. No social distancing and very little mask-wearing going on here on this evening. As other reviews have stated the setup inside has changed slightly. The couches directly in front of the stage are gone. That row is all individual chairs now. This row of chairs is nicer than the rest. But they don’t seem to be conducive to having the dancers come off the stage and give you a short lapdance as used to happen under the old setup with the couches. Also the communal lapdance area, which was off to the left of the stage, is now curtained off into a VIP area. I am uncertain if that area is further subdivided behind the curtain. The net result of this is no more LDs unless you go VIP. The main seating area has a bunch of small, round tables that can accommodate 3 chairs each. There is a row of chairs along the back wall. All the chairs except for the ones on the front row are 4-leg with metal frames and padded seats and backs. They are Ok comfort-wise. There are two ATMs in the front. Stay away from the ATMs because it’s a 10% surcharge.

It seems as if Showcase has become Fuego, if this night was representative of the way things are now. There were a couple of Caucasian dancers. I didn’t see any AA dancers, although there may have been some. The vast majority of the dancers were Latina (including a few familiar faces from the past). Showcase dancers have always been a mix of bodytypes from petite to Rubenesque. That was the case again on this evening. There must have been at least 2 dozen dancers working, so there should have been something for just about everyone. The crowd was largely Latino. The music catered to the crowd. I was there long enough to get a handful of dances and leave. The dances were fine, with a decent amount of grinding on her part and some roaming on my part. I hate standing in the main area because there really isn’t anywhere to stand where you are not in someone’s way, given how relatively tiny the space is. You are bound to either bump into someone or be bumped into when you stand. And I just don’t want to be constantly dealing with that.
