Good but definitely not great

I had never been to the clubs in Providence before but when a recent work trip to Boston emerged I decided to loop an afternoon trip to Providence into it. Landed around 12:30 ET at Logan. Went up to get rental car and there was a crazy line just to issue cars to customers (as in the company was waiting on inventory to roll back in - f covid related collateral damage). Got car after waiting 30 minutes or so and started the drive down to Providence. Shitty traffic for a Sunday afternoon, not sure what that was about but that was annoying too. Finally arrived at Desire around 3 pm. No cover charge. Security guy and a walk through the metal detector.

My vision of the Providence scene was seedy dive bar type places which where I often tend to find myself. My vision was totally off. Desire is a nice, upscale joint though much smaller than I would have thought. I think there is a second related club upstairs but I wasn't clear on that. I was ordering bottled beer - I think $6/bottle for domestic. The main bar was open and then a second smaller opened shortly thereafter. There is an outdoor patio which is quite large which would be really nice during good weather, on this particular day it was a bit too chilly.

After being there for an hour or so I don't think I was approached by any girls which was surprising and unusual. I approached a girl that I found attractive and she was low 20s Puerto Rican girl that spoke pretty good English. I took her back for some regular dances. $5 to the house and the guy says 'how many dances?'. Not sure why they ask that. Who decides exactly how many before a dance starts. Dumb. Anyone the three times I went back I just said one and then ended up getting more 2 of 3 times. Good $20 dances from the thin PR girl and they high quality though nothing that she'd get in trouble for. I sampled another PR who was a lot of talk and very little execution so one and down for that girl. I ended up grabbing girl #1 for a second round and she was quite good all over again. I left around 7-8 pm and started the annoying drive back up to Boston. Returned rental car and then ubered to my hotel. All in all it wasn't a great experience but you only live once so why not go out of your way to try out new spots.
