The NEW Vics! ( well, sign....). otherwise samo samo..

Stopped by around 2:30 today as I had an hour or so to kill on an airport run. First thing I notice is a new flashy sign handing out front, and maybe? a new awning? I never paid much attention. Anyway-seemed odd to spend money to draw attention to the place, but maybe things aren't recovering very fast after 2020...

Walk in and the front man is sitting way back on the left at the bar.. I have to walk over to him- get his attention, and ask if there's still a door? There is: $10. I walk in and immediately notice the music.. none of the hip hop vibe that I usually hear.. it's actually mello, and not too loud. I started to get a twilight-zone feeling, then realize that, unless anyone had already come and gone, they had made $30 at to door so far today - including me. If dancers tip in $25, they were up $25. Good news is the whole backside of the bar was unoccupied so I grabbed a stool from the wall, pulled it to the middle, and ordered my beer ( $7 Corona ).

Then the Twilight Zone thing hit full force as I was nearly blinded by a huge spotlight above the door that was turned on suddenly. My mind flipped into " it's a raid" protocol and I was making my way to see if that other doos was unlocked ( always wanted to know ) when I realized it was the owner who flipped it on, and he needed the light because he was doing surgery on the ATM machine by the door. What owners are allowed to do that? I think it's a private ATM.. more shade, but whatever.
